Over the last 2 days I have gone into Susan G Komen-Planned Parenthood overload. It's swelled on Facebook, the news, it's everywhere, you can't avoid it. Today Nancy Brinkler backpeddaled a bit. They said that they weren't withdrawing funding from Planned Parenthood. What the heck does that mean? So are they stopping giving money for pretend mammograms and boob fondling or not. It's that simple. Either they're going to continue giving Planned Parenthood grants, or they're not. So, basically my hesitance to support Komen was very much warranted. I'm curious how hard it is to just come out and say yes, we quit funding them or now we didn't. Planned Parenthood's mass hysteria they have caused could go either way. Now one of two things happened. Either Komen threatened to cut funding and PP basically smeared their name for even entertaining the idea. Or they did actually cut the funding and Planned Parenthood basically released a warning to their other donors that they better not even try. Because by what I have heard there are other organizations that have either already or are considering pulling funding. Planned Parenthood is a down right bully.
There are a lot of people throwing around the political aspect of all this and Komen's new very conservative pro-life vice president. And are using that as an excuse to say that is what caused Komen's decision. Well, I think I mentioned it in my last post but Planned Parenthood has many political ties as well. I mentioned that Cecile Richards has Nancy Pelosi's full backing, due to her being Richards' former employer. Again, I will continue to hold off on my full support for Susan G Komen until this mess is sorted out.
